I’m running for Hennepin County Commissioner for District 6 to help usher in a new era of innovation and opportunity for Hennepin County.

District 6 includes Deephaven, Edina, Excelsior, Greenwood, Hopkins, Long Lake, Minnetonka, Minnetonka Beach, Mound, Northern Eden Prairie, Orono, Shorewood, Spring Park, Tonka Bay, Woodland, and Wayzata.

Get to Know Daniel

I’ve spent most of my life in Minnesota, cherishing this wonderful community we call home. I live with my wife and three daughters in Edina with our oldest daughter enrolled in the local public schools.

I’ve worked at the grassroots level and at a systems level to support change in communities in Minnesota and across the country. From working shoulder to shoulder with teachers in Chicago to partnering with economic development leaders across the country to develop financial opportunities for small business owners as they rebuild in a post-pandemic environment- I’m a progressive leader who knows how to leverage the best of private enterprise, public sector resources, and community organizations to benefit all our neighbors.

Ready to Build an Innovative & Responsive Government

I want to use my technology and innovation experience to build a more inclusive, dynamic, responsive, and accessible county government. We’re in a time of dizzying economic and technological change and we need to make sure our government services and leaders are thinking about how these forces will impact our communities- and what we can do to use them to help our communities.

Pragmatic Leadership

I’ve seen the results that great public sector leaders and institutions can have on their communities. Having been privileged enough to work with state and local leaders across the country, the best outcomes for our community happen when people from different perspectives, opinions, and backgrounds come together to get something done. I am always eager to hear and learn from members of this community, and that’s a commitment I’ll keep when elected.

Community Centered Leader

Community impact is what I have dedicated my career to. Every step has been working to be of service to communities and causes bigger than myself. Over my career I have worked in youth development, education, financial services, and economic development and can draw on these experiences to tackle our toughest challenges.

A Focus on Inclusion

I would focus on lifting voices from all over the district and all over the county. I believe in the wisdom of crowds and want to hear how we can make our government work better for us. I want to hear from parents, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, advocates, business leaders, teens and young adults, and anyone else trying to build a better community. My door will always be open.
